Pearl Harriet Conrad 86, of Glendale, passed away November 25, 2011 after a long illness.
Mrs. Conrad, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was born May 6, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Harriet (Sell) Biedenbender. She led a long and adventurous life, residing in Wisconsin, Louisiana, Kentucky and finally Arizona.
She enjoyed long road trips, fishing, good meals and card games with friends and family. In her later years, her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Taryn and Ryan, with whom she shared many fun and memorable times.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jonell and Robert Sloekers, grandchildren Taryn and Ryan Sloekers, and sisters Betty Klessig, Geraldine Callies, Adeline Dethloff and Beverly Gabala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Conrad, her sister Agnes Kaehler and her brother Jack Biedenbender.
Services will be Sunday, December 4, 2:30 PM at Glencroft Auditorium, 8611 N. 67th Ave., Glendale, AZ. An informal gathering will follow the service at the home of Robert and Jonell Sloekers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Arizona Humane Society or Hospice of the Valley.
