DELANEY, Edgar (Ed) M.


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona July 2011 Edgar (Ed) M. Delaney of Phoenix, passed away on July 23, 2011. He was born November 17, 1931 to Vincent and Marie Delaney in Waltham, MA. He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Ed graduated from the University of Massachusetts and the University of Arizona Law School. He practiced Worker's Compensation Law in Phoenix for over 45 years, over 30 of those years as a partner in Delaney & Melkonoff, P.C. He is survived by his sons Sean and Charles (Chas) Delaney, his grandchildren Sierra and Lisa Delaney and his sisters Mary Donlan, Anne Scott and Diane Sullivan. Ed was preceded in death by his brother James Delaney and sister Ethel Proia. Ed enjoyed the practice of law and was liked and respected by his colleagues and friends. He treasured his relationship with Shirley Fulton for 23 years and will be missed by his many friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on July 30, 2011 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
