MURRAY, Ruth W.

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Sunday, April 29, 2012 - Ruth W. Murray, 87, passed away April 19, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. She was born in Portland, Maine, Feb. 10, 1925, where she lived for 35 years. She then moved with her husband and family to Corona, Calif., and lived there for 20 years until 1979 when they retired in Lake Havasu City. Her husband of 70 years, Larry Murray, passed away this month also, on April 3. The family takes comfort in knowing that they are together again. Ruth was a loving mother and always made sure her children and grandchildren were taught how to be polite and proper. I think we can attribute that to her New England upbringing. She always believed in us and was supportive of our dreams and decisions — even though they weren’t always the right ones. We will all miss her beautiful face and strong personality. She is survived by her three children, son, Larry Murray (Sharron); daughter, Cindy Murray; and son, John Murray, who all reside in Lake Havasu. She has five grandchildren, Jeani Loe (Dennis), of Roseville, Calif.; Troy Gilbert, of Waynesville, N.C.; Jacquie Early (Jason), of Tracy, Calif.; Shauna Ballance (Tray), of Waynesville, N.C., and Michael Murray, of Tempe, Ariz. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Cody, Mitch, Gaige, Katy, Sarah, Jozy, Jesse, Ralyn and River. Memorial services are pending. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth’s name to Hospice of Havasu. Thoughts and condolences can be sent directly to the family or through www.lakehavasumortuary.com. Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory, Veteran and Family owned.
