PRAVEL, Charles Albert


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Sunday, April 29, 2012 - Charles Albert Pravel passed away April 16, 2012 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 90. Charles was born May 6, 1921, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Charles and Elsie (Koss) Pravel. Following graduation from high school, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, beginning a career that would span over 20 years Charles retired from the Marines as a Master Sergeant January 31, 1962. While in the Marine Corps, he served in the South Pacific and fought at Guadalcanal. Charles relocated to Lake Havasu City in October 2005 from California and became a member of the Marine Corps League and Elks Lodge 2399. In the fall, you could find Charles enjoying the many football games on TV. Charles is survived by his sons, Charles Pravel, of Lebanon, Ohio, and John Pravel, of Eugene; daughter, Shelly Teague, of Savannah, Ga.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering for Charles will be Friday May 4, at 3 p.m., at Sun Haven Assisted living 2731 S.
