West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Tuesday, May 01, 2012 Walter Schreiner, 75, of Buckeye died April 28, 2012, at his home. Mr. Schreiner was born Jan. 5, 1937, in Germany. After World War II, his family moved to France where he served as a paratrooper in the French Army. He moved to the U.S. in 1964 and became a citizen. He married Sunduz "Sevim" Karadeniz on Aug. 22, 1965. The couple moved to Arizona about 15 years ago. He is survived by two sons, Dieter and John Mele; two daughters, Layla Mele and Amanda; two sisters, Ruth and Hanna; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sunduz. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Thompson's Valley West Funeral chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear. Services will follow at 10 a.m. with the Rev. K Preston Gray officiating.
