GARDINER, Kenneth D.


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona May 2011 Kenneth D. Gardiner, passed away on April 29, 2011, with his family by his side. He was born January 6, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan and resided in Phoenix, AZ for the last 38 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served honorably in the U.S. Navy on the submarine U.S.S. Cubera, followed by 20 years as a decorated Detroit Police Officer. He is survived by his wife, Therese "Terri", and children, Tom, Dan, Kathy (David) Templin, Patty (Carl) Schultheis, Nancy (Eric) Snell, Bob (Heather), Connie (John) Walters, Jim (Mina), Kenny (Michelle), Ed, and Margie (Scott) Jones; 23 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Michael, Shannon, Jonathan, Davey, Nikki, Scott, Jessica, Wyatt, Adam, Chase, Maeson, Kyle, Rebecca, Samantha, Audrey, Blair and her sibling on the way, Amanda, Kenny, Ryan and Scotty, and 5 great-grandchildren. His greatest legacy is the love he lavished on his family. To live in the hearts of those you leave behind is never to die.
