Francis "Bud" Hanegraaf, age 86, a 6-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz. died Friday, April 27, 2012, in Henderson, Nev.
Bud was born July 1, 1925, in Kimberly Wis., to Martin and Katherine Hanegraaf. Bud a veteran of WWII, served from 1941-1945, in the European theater and was a recipient of several military honors, including the purple heart.
Bud retired from Point Mugu Pacific Missile Test Center where he worked on range communications for many launches, including the STS-1, the first space shuttle Columbia.
Bud was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Giordana, and Rita Foster.
Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Hanegraaf; son, David Hanegraaf, three daughters, Sandie Fraits, Jodie Hazenberg, and Carrie Blake; four sisters, Dean Shultz, Germaine Nachel, Joan Frassetto, and Mary Beth VandeLoo; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Fiesta Resort, 3190 Highway 95, Bullhead City, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bud's memory, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
