Larkin “Casey” Craig went home to be with our Lord and Savior April 18, 2012. He was 83-years-old. Casey was born April 17, 1929, in Santa Monica, Calif.
He served in World War II in the US Marine Corp in the Asiatic Pacific Phillipines as a gunnery sergeant. Casey earned three Purple Hearts, one Silver Star, one Bronze Star as well as other medals. He was also assisted with the Navajo Code Talkers.
He was very active in the military lifestyle being a Commander of the VFW in Parker, as well as an All American Commander of the VFW of District 1. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Casey loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and said repeatedly that he would be riding again when he went home. He also loved deep sea diving and had his own deep sea diving company in Los Angeles called The SouthCoast Divers.
He was also was avidly in construction as a tower crane operator. He loved to go fishing and hunting and anything that had to do with water and the outdoors. He was also a stunt man for movies with his deep sea diving company.
Casey is survived by his wife of 28 years, Beverly; daughter Debbie Haskell, of Colorado; son Patrick Calligan, of California; son Donald Craig, of Colorado; son Shawn Calligan, of Minnesota; daughter Erin Ward, of Arizona; son Brian Calligan, of Hawaii; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
His son David Craig, of Colorado, preceded him in death.
Casey was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed.
