Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, May 8, 2012 - Kay Van Gorder < > Dec. 23, 1939 — April 30, 2012 < Kay Van Gorder passed away peacefully April 30, 2012. Kay grew up in Geneva, Ohio where she spent her childhood before moving on to college. She became a registered nurse and served in various communities for over 40 years in that capacity. Kay had served in the community of Lake Havasu City for the past 20 years. Her friends and co-workers consider her one of the most kindest, sweetest and friendliest people they had known. Kay always helped many people in various ways throughout her life; her heart was open to everyone. Many friends, some of whom have known her since first grade, surrounded her in life. She enjoyed laughing; she enjoyed all things in life. Kay loved spending time embracing her hobby, shopping. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Kay will be remembered for her good nature, sincere lasting friendships and for the kind person she was. We will all miss her dearly. She was an only child to Harry W. Van Gorder and Marjorie B. Van Gorder. Kay is survived by her cousins, Richard and Sally Childs; step-son, Gary Nicks; daughter-in-law, Joanie; grandchild, Travis; and great-grandchild, Ryan. There will be a “Celebration of Life” in her honor May 20, 2012 at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge of Lake Havasu City located at 3532 McCulloch Blvd.
