Globe — William Calvin Imhoff passed away at his residence on April 30, 2012. He was born on Feb. 25, 1926 in Corona, N.M. to Albert John Imhoff and Addie Myrtle Grove Imhoff. He was the youngest of six children raised in a ranching family.
Upon leaving home, he worked at many interesting jobs throughout his life, including being a ranch hand, working on the railroad throughout Arizona, and being an underground miner.
He proudly served his country in the Korean War in 1951-1952, coming back to settle in Phoenix, Ariz. where he had met and married the love of his life, Dolores Lanovich. Bill and Dolores moved to Globe in 1970 with their four children, at which time Bill managed the local Yellow Front Store and later the tribal store in San Carlos. Bill retired in 1988 from APS.
Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a wonderful, caring person to many others around him. He cherished his family and his faith, being a convert to the L.D.S. church, which he greatly loved, though not always a churchgoer. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores; his four children, Kathy, John, Sharon (Gerald), and Mark (Joan); as well as seven grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held at Lamont Mortuary, followed by a public reception celebrating Bill’s life at the American Legion Henry Barry Post #4, 645 S. Broad St., in Globe, Ariz., from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 12.
Bill’s request was that any donations be made to the L.D.S. welfare program and the Salvation Army.
