Beloved mom, grandma, sister and friend, Jacqueline Mary Heap Baca of St. Johns, died May 3, 2012. She was born April 19, 1950, in McNary to the late Merle Ward Heap and Marguerite Jones (deceased).
Jacque had a way of making everyone she knew feel special. She was an incredible writer and felt most comfortable expressing her thoughts to loved ones through cards, letters, and poetry. Jacque had a sweet rapport with children and they always brought joy to her life. She had a special talent for teaching and held a preschool at her home for several years. She later worked as a reading aide at Coronado Elementary School and was adored by all. She was an angel in our midst.
Jacque had a witty sense of humor and encouraged joy and laughter in her home. Her family will miss her shoulder dancing, singing, gardening, and fantasy football team, “Wheels.” She loved reading, pink lemonade, crossword puzzles, the color green, crunching ice, eating out, “Law and Order,” being outdoors, time with family and friends, and going to the temple.
Jacque is survived by her seven children: Stephen (Sonya) Baca, Suzanne (Paul) Hancock, Michelle (Michael) Sanders, Brad (Amber) Baca, Jennifer (Lon) Dimbatt, Nicole (Shane) Johnson, and Tyson (Sasha) Baca; siblings: Bruce (Dixie) Heap, Patty (Milt) Brabant, and Larry (Bev) Heap; and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the St. Johns LDS Stake Center, with the visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will immediately follow at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
At Jacque’s request, in lieu of flowers, please contribute to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Humanitarian Fund.
