Walter Henry Zastrow 100, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away April 9, 2011. Walter, son of Ida and Ferdinand Zastrow, was born in Long Prairie, Minnesota on October 31, 1910. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys in 1980, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Walter and Gladys were proud parents of two sons, Russell and Randy. His older son Russell and wife Vicki live in Anoka, Minnesota. Randy and his wife Monica live in Glendale, Arizona. Also surviving are two wonderful grandchildren, Eric and Emily; both live in Phoenix, Arizona. He also leaves many nieces and nephews in Minnesota. Walter served his country during World War II with the Army Combat Engineers in both the Europe and Pacific theaters.
He was a life member of the American Legion Post 29 and VFW Post 1433 of Glendale. Walter was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Glendale, Arizona.
Interment will take place Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 2:30 P.M., at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phx, AZ.
Arrangements are entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes in Glendale.
