Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from May 12 to May 19, 2012 - Lyle Douglas Stickel, age 86, a 32-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., died peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Mountain View Manor in Prescott, Ariz. He was born July 31, 1925, in Esperance, N. Y. Lyle officiated high school football for thirty years in Arizona. Lyle was a veteran of the Marines, and served his country in the South Pacific during World War II, where he earned a Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Susan Sauer Stickel of Bullhead City; four children, Cindy Lee Stickel (Pat) Sullivan of Indianapolis, Ind.; Daniel Richard (Julie) Stickel of Bullhead City, David George (Sarah) Stickel of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and James Bridger (Emma) Stickel of Ketchikan, Alaska; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1690 River Gardens Drive, Bullhead City, Ariz. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Desert Lawn Cemetery, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, Ariz. .
