James Russell Peterson, 81, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on December 24, 2011. He proudly served our Country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Jim was a simple man who loved his family, sports and the occasional slot machine. He was a diehard baseball fan and he enthusiastically followed the Diamondbacks. He was a mechanic at Mel Clayton Ford for over 30 years.
A devoted husband of the late Dale Ann Peterson.
He is survived by his children Randy (Linda), Lori Chernek, Lisa (Chuck) Ponsock, Kathy (Randy) Leister. He was a devoted Grandfather to Kristin, Renee and Brandon Peterson, James Chernek, Leah (Ed) Reilly, Joshua (Mimi) Ponsock, Jared (Jennifer) Ponsock, Jacob Ponsock, Dusty (Mike) Perez, and Hailey Leister. Great Grandfather to Corbin Chernek, Julianna and Nathanael Ponsock, Libbi Ponsock, Benjamin Perez. He is also survived by his brother and best friend Robert Peterson. Proceeded in death by his parents Elias and Mabel Peterson, Sisters Bernice, Margie, Jeanie and Lois as well as his brother Ray.
