Charlotte L. Brashears, 85, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Monday, May 14, 2012. A native of Granby, Mo., she moved to Phoenix in 1946 for health reasons.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John W.
She is survived by her son John F., daughter-in-law Sally and her son Bill (Clyde W.); three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and brother Clyde of Sun City.
In September 2008, she volunteered to be one of the first people at T Gen Clinical Research Services at Scottsdale Healthcare to participate in a cancer clinical trial involving an anti-myostatin drug to help cancer patients maintain their strength and mobility. Charlotte believed "It takes people to become involved and donate their time for research." She gave of herself her entire life. Taking care of her family and those around her was a joy for her. She loved and was loved by many. She had a great faith and was a true prayer warrior.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road.
