Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, May 17, 2012 - Edward A. Pfau passed away May 14, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 73. He was born May 3, 1939, to Edward and Viola (Rubbert) Pfau in Rugby, N.D. Eddie, as he was known to as family and friends, joined the U.S. Navy out of high school and stayed for 30 years. While he was in the Navy, he served on various carriers and squadrons. He started his flying carrier in 1969. He received his private, commercial, instrument and multi-engine license in one year to the day. He worked as an airplane and power-plant mechanic for numerous years. In the year 1996, he built an experimental RV-6 and he discovered that it was not a bad aerobatic airplane. He served as QB Governor and by his own admission was a very good airport bum. He married Kathryn Jan. 10, 2009, and cherished every minute. During their time together they enjoyed traveling. Motorcycling with his brother and sister-in-law was the most memorable. Loving it all. Eddie is survived by his wife, Kathryn; sisters, Elizabeth Wick and Marilyn Wick, of Arizona; brothers, Don (Ruby) Pfau, of Arizona, Rob (Vickie) Pfau, of Washington, Steve (Carolynne) Pfau, of North Dakota; step-daughter, Janice Burrage, of Laughlin, Nev.; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel; and his parents. Cremation has taken place per Eddie’s wishes and memorial services will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory on June 16, at 10 a.m. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Eddie’s family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
