Margaret A. Johnson passed away at the age of 97 May 15, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. Margaret was born in Finley, N.D. to Edwin and Mary (Olsen) Drange on Oct. 1, 1914. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nana and friend. She will be very dearly missed for her independence, stårength, good spirit, beautiful smile, friendly nature, loyalty and generosity. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Johnson, and they spent 57 years together. While in Minneapolis she worked in medical offices, and tested cakes for Betty Crocker.
She retired and moved to Arizona in 1979 with her husband, where she volunteered in many organizations. Dear to her heart was Mount Olive Lutheran Church and the craft group of the Hospital Auxiliary. Margaret also worked with the Lioness, Mohave County Extension, Elkettes and the Senior Center.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Donna Duell, of Las Vegas, and Geri Rasmussen (Bob), of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Tracy Duell Cazes (Larry), of San Jose, Calif., Kelly Duell (Joseph Duran), of Maui, Hawaii; Todd Duell (Julie), of San Diego, Calif., Lyn Demaret (Shawn), of Lake Havasu City, and Erik Rasmussen, of Lake Havasu City; great-grandchildren, Ariel Duell Duran, of Maui, Hawaii; and Jakob Holmes and Sadie Holmes, of Lake Havasu City. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Johnson, in 1993.
Services will be held Friday May 18, at 4 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
