On May 17, we lost a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Mike passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family after battling lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years, Shirley Obermeyer; sons, Evan ad Erik Obermeyer; daughters-in-law, Melissa and Jessica; granddaughter, Kiley; brothers, Doug and Dave Obermeyer; mother, Geneva Obermeyer; and many other family and friends.
Mike love to spend time with his family. He spent much of his time with his boys and playing with his granddaughter. Mike enjoyed golfing, water skiing, and most of all, riding his motorcycle on a nice day as well as playing pool with friends. Anyone that knew Mike in life, knows how special his family and friends were to him and he would never let you come or go without a hug … he loved hugs.
In honor of Mike, please hug your loved ones every time you see them. Mike loved hugs and this will carry on his memory for all of us.
The family would like to thank Hospice for its help — they were amazing.
“Yea when I get where I’m going, there’ll be only happy tears. I will shed the sins and struggles; I have carried all these years. And I’ll leave my heart wide open; I will love and have no fear. Yeah when I get where I’m going, don’t cry for me down here.” — Brad Paisley
