HAYS, James Raymond

Copper Basin News Hayden, Az. 23 May 2012 James Raymond Hays, born October 5, 1930 in Keota, Oklahoma, passed away on May 20, 2012 at Odyssey Hospice. James was a resident of Winkelman for 40 years and worked as an electrician for Kennecott and Asarco for 29 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fannie Maude Hays and Noah Baxter Hays; and brothers, Thomas and Bobby. Surviving him are his wife, Joyce Hays; children, Jimmy, Ron, Debbie, Patsy, Gary, Janice, Roy and Cheryl; sister, Lucy Bradford; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren with one more on the way. There will be a memorial at Best Mortuary, 9380 West Peoria, Phoenix, on Friday, May 25, from 9-11 a.m. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the National Veterans' Cemetery, 101 Freeway in Cave Creek.
