Delbert Rey Standage (“My friends call me Del”), 79, born in Gilbert, Arizona, 21 November, 1932, was the 3rd child of 7 boys and 1 girl born to Gerald Hurst Standage and Inez Haymore.
Del attended Mesa Public Schools and graduated from Mesa High School in 1950. At age 21 he served a mission for the LDS Church in the British Isles. Del served in the military during the Korean War and was stationed in Tacoma, Washington.
Del chose a career in sales and loved his many associations with people. Del was always a hard worker and a detail person. He loved to dance and watch old movies, but his favorite talent was making candy. Missionary work was his lifetime passion.
Del is survived by Kay, his wife of 53 years, his son Mark and daughter-in-law Melissa, and 6 wonderful grandchildren. They and all that knew him will miss this devoted and faithful friend.
Services are Saturday, May 26th, at the Brimhall Ward building located just south of Southern on 48th Street. There is a visitation at 9 AM with the funeral services starting at 10 AM. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel.
