CRUZ, Adriana Marie (Adri)

Griffith Mortuary, Kearny, Az. Thursday May 24, 2012 Adriana Marie Cruz "Adri" of Hayden passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Dudleyville, AZ at the age of 16. She was the youngest child born to Anna and Ray Cruz on September 5, 1995 in Tucson, AZ. Adri has resided in the Hayden/Winkelman area the majority of her life. For three years she lived in Payson, AZ. She attended Payson Elementary and Rim Country Middle School. Adri was a sophomore at Hayden High School. She was an honor student and was awarded the top 10th grade student for her 3.5 GPA. She had also received the top student award her freshman year. Adri's future looked bright; she was enrolled at Central Arizona College and was starting college classes this summer. In the fall, she was planning to enroll in the CIVIT program and study Fire Science or Medical Assistant. After graduating high school, she was planning to pursue a career as a Medical Sonographer. Adri loved to play sports, she especially loved softball. She was able to join the Hayden Lobo softball team this year and participate in the AZ State Playoffs. She also participated in the SADD program and was Sophomore Homecoming Princess. In her free time she enjoyed hanging out with her friends, spending time riding quads and enjoying the Gila River. She loved listening to all types of music. Adri loved to travel and see new places, she loved attending concerts and car shows. She loved seeing rainbows and all things that were rainbow colored. Adri was a fun-loving, relaxed, and an adventurous person. She loved life and loved everyone in her life. She accepted people for who they are and just went with the flow. She could bring a smile to anyone's face and her presence could brighten a room. She was loved and adored by many and was a pleasure to be around. She will be greatly missed. Adri is survived by her loving parents Ray Cruz of Hayden, Anna Cruz (Chester) of Payson; siblings Brandon Cruz of Hayden, Tiffany (Rudy) Velasco of San Tan Valley, Step-brothers and Emily Cruz; Grandparents Eva Rose Rivera of Hayden, Juan and Frances Cruz of Hayden; Nephew Darius Ray Cruz and Nieces Ashalia and Keira Velasco and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is proceeded in death by her Grandfather Manuel M. Rivera and her Aunt Gracie Cruz Escalante; Uncles Arthur "Peewee" Rivera, Joe Kerlock and Tommy Escalante. Burial will be at the Mountain View Cemetery; Hayden, Az.
