Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Friday, May 25, 2012 Herbert Banning, 81, of Flagstaff died May 24, 2012. He was born April 22, 1931 in Camp Verde, AZ to Perry and Ida Banning. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Des Moines, during the Koran Conflict. Mr. Banning moved to Flagstaff in 1961 where he Barbered for 50 years many of them at the Mt. Elden Barber Shop. In his leisure time he was an avid bowler. He is survived by his wife Billie, 2 daughters Julia Borg (Andy) and Katherine Gee (David); 9 grandchildren and 4 ½ great grandchildren; 2 sisters Martha Grimes (Tommy), Louise Bartholomew; a brother Stanley Banning and many nieces and Nephews. A visitation will be 9am Saturday, with funeral service at 10am at the Norvel Owens Mortuary. Interment with military honors will conclude services in the Veterans Section of Citizens Cemetery.
