Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - James G. Smith passed away May 20, 2012 in Lake Havasu City due to complications with lung cancer. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., Oct. 30, 1945. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps Oct. 25, 1965 and was honorably discharged honorably in 1971. He married Kathy Feb. 14, 1981, in Lake Havasu City, where they made their home and raised their family, He was an avid fisherman and loved camping but nothing brought him more joy than the time he spent fixing and racing quads with his son, Roy. He leaves behind his wife, Kathy; two sons, Jimmy and Roy; daughter, Rosa; and grandson, Wesley. He will be greatly missed by all here and on the track. There will be a celebration of life for Jim Thursday at 3 p.m. at the London Bridge Convention Center. Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
