Polly, as she was known by her family and friends, was born July 6, 1923, in Utica, N.Y., to Joseph and Alice (Vienneau) Pallotta. Polly was an RN for 37 years and served as a stateside nurse during World War II, receiving and caring for wounded soldiers returning to Massachusetts. Polly married Pershing Fielden in 1947 and their only child, Mark, was born in 1950. They resided in Fitchburg, Mass. Polly married Clinton Cummings in 1969, and later moved to Lake Havasu City in 1978. During her retirement, Polly often traveled to the East Coast to visit family. Polly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved to visit the Maine coast and eat lobster. Polly took up painting in her spare time and became quite the artist. Her artwork is cherished by her grandchildren. Polly was met at the gates of heaven by her son, Mark, who passed in September 1998. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan Fielden; grandchildren, Lauren, Jeffrey and Kyle Fielden; and one great-grandson, Lucas, of Fairfax, Vt.; her niece, Janet Ashbrook, of Severna Park, Md., as well as a niece and nephew in Massachusetts. Polly also leaves behind her dear friends, Virginia Findley and Gisele and Tim O’Connor. Polly’s family is extremely grateful for these friends who were her companions and support in the absence of her immediate family. The family would also like to thank the entire staff at the Jasmine House and Hospice of Havasu for providing compassionate and loving care during her stay. Polly would like you to remember her by enjoying a hot fudge sundae with your family and friends, gazing upon a beautiful Havasu sunset and marveling at the beauty that surrounds us each and every day. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Dorothy’s family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
