ALLEN, Richard Lane

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, May 25, 2012 Richard Lane Allen of Prescott, Ariz., passed away May 22, 2012. He was born in Fort Smith, Ark., on July 15, 1928. Late in WWII, he served as a Navy Corpsman and was a veteran of the Korean War. He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson before settling in Norwalk, Calif., where he married Gloria Rios on April 13, 1952. Richard worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for more than 30 years. He moved his family to Prescott in 1976. Richard was a committed follower of Christ. A member of Willow Hills Baptist Church, he sang in the choir and had many discussions with his Sunday school class. He is survived by his wife Gloria; children Thomas Allen, Robin Lassiter and Julie Pape; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Willow Hills Baptist Church in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to a charity of your choice in Richard's name. Information provided by survivors.
