Abrams, age 87, a 41-year resident of Mohave Valley, Ariz., passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born on March 19, 1925. Harry was a master mechanic. He moved here from San Luis Obispo, Calif., in the early 1970s, and started a small automobile repair business known as Harry's Auto. Many years later, his son, Lyle, joined him, and eventually ran the family business. It was at this point Harry and his son, along with personal friends of the family, Jerry and Cathy Langdon, pursued Harry's greatest passion – racing an ICMA modified here in the valley – #19 was owned by Harry, and Lyle was the driver. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy, son, Lyle D. Abrams, and brother, Bud. Harry is survived by his son, Melvin; three brothers, Leon, Duck, and Larry Dean; two sisters, Berta and Sugar; and 13 grandchildren, Tim, Cliff, Chris, Tami, Kenny, Issac, Amber, Tawni, Edward, Enrique, Nallely, Wendy, and Ryan. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, with services following at 12:00 p.m., at Desert Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, Ariz.
