Kathryn Lee Hartfield, 65, passed away peacefully at home May 18, 2012. She was born April 24, 1947, in Oakland, Calif., to Paul and Grace (Beak) Hurd Jr.
She was a Spanish and English teacher for 35 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad with her husband James. Kathryn loved training horses and took a great pleasure in showing her Arabian horses.
Kathryn is survived by her husband of 40 years, James A. Hartfield; mother-in-law Leona Hartfield; sisters-in-law Mary Kay Bleifus, Dorothy Creamer and Jackie Hartfield; brother-in-law Robert Hartfield; nieces Kathy Lee Barrio, Cyndi A. Gentle and Tammy Martinez; nephews Tim Creamer and Rob Hartfield; and many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Private family services will take place.
