BLOOD, John Thomas


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Sunday, May 27, 2012 John Thomas Blood, passed at home on May 7, 2012. Born October, 23, 1946 on the Kavanaugh family farm in Lohrville, Iowa. John moved to Superior, AZ in 1957. He first went to college at Northern Arizona University in 1964. He then volunteered for the draft in November 1966, served in the U. S. Army as a Military Police Officer, Sentry Dog Handler through 1968. John earned his Presidential Citation. John ended up a contractor for forest thinning-fuel breaks, with the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation for 35 years. Survived by sister, Bronwyn Morgan and her husband, Gil Morgan. He was uncle to Stacy (Ty) Arndt, Heather (Dennis) Buckley, Brandi (Jerry) Jump and Heidi Morgan. Also, by partner, Rene’ Matt Viota, stepchildren; Naomi Voita-Mitchell, David Voita Jr., Rebekah Voita and Simona Voita; grandchildren; Brianna, Vance and Haven; dogs; Noni, Mato, Spooky, Casper, Jack and Sally.
