ROOKS, Willie Irene (Mother Irene)

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona January 04, 2011 Willie Irene Rooks, 95, of Avondale, died of renal failure Dec. 26, 2010. Mrs. Rooks, who was known as "Mother Irene," was born Dec. 6, 1915, in Cornerstone, Ark. She moved to Arizona in 2007. She was a retired line inspector for the Chrysler Corp. She also was a member of the Nurses Guild. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Holt, Willie Mae Davenport and Annie Lloyd Miles; four sons, Robert Lee, Calvin Bowden, Ricardo Bowden and Amos; one sister, Emma McDaniel; 24 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. Services were not announced.
