The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/29/2012 Leslie (Les) M. Scott, 76, died peacefully Saturday, May 12, at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix. Mr. Scott was born Feb. 20, 1936, in Washington County, Pa. He had called Lakeside home for the past 12 years. Mr. Scott served his country in the Air Force based in Texas in his early years. He and his family moved to Kansas City, Mo. He then located to Osage Beach, Mo. He was manufacturer’s representative and part owner of the S.M. Osgood Company based in Minnesota, where he retired in 1997. He and his wife moved to Sun Lakes in 1997 where they enjoyed golf and fishing. They located to Lakeside in 2000 and also enjoyed golfing, fly fishing and traveling. Mr. Scott was a kind and gentle man who loved the company of his wife and their many cats and dogs. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. “Be at peace my love.” He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Leslie and Ruth Scott of Sherman, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Scott of Lakeside; sister Doris Carson of Sherman, Texas; brother David Scott of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters: Lesa Wardrip of Kansas City, Mo., Cathy Wilcox of Blue Springs, Mo.; six grandchildren: Christopher Castro, Michelle Leslie, Dylan Wilcox, Aaron Wilcox, Catlin Wilcox, and Anna Wilcox; two great-grandchildren: Jaylee Casto and Braden Leslie, all of Missouri. A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at The Gathering Place, 4756 Buck Springs Road in Pinetop. (behind Frank M. Smith & Assoc. Realty)
