BOLINGER, Naomi Louise

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Wednesday, May 30, 2012 Naomi Louise Wilson Bolinger, age 89, of Globe, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Copper Mountain Inn. She was born to Aubry and Marjorie (Robinette) Wilson on Oct. 26, 1922, in Albion, Okla. When Naomi was four, the family relocated to Arizona and settled in Fort Thomas before Naomi started high school. While in high school, Naomi participated in track and field and played fast pitch softball. She also met her future husband, Jesse Lorenzo Bolinger, and the two were married on Sept. 16, 1940. During WWII Jesse and Naomi made their home in Central Heights and Jess worked for the Miami Copper Company. He later retired from the Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company. Naomi (also known as Sally) worked for J.C. Penney and as the office manager at McSpadden Ford until her retirement. Jesse and Naomi loved their four children and grandchildren and spent many days on the lakes water-skiing and fishing. They also loved the Lord and were members of Trinity Baptist and Central Heights Southern Baptist Church, where Jesse served as deacon and Naomi faithfully taught Sunday school. On Facebook postings following her passing, Naomi has been referred to as the “go to person for prayer” and “the spiritual rock of the community” by those who knew her. Naomi is survived by her children, Pat (George) Massingill, Jude (Dan) Lanphar, Farrell (Janet) Bolinger, and Jesse (Kathy) Bolinger; two brothers, George (Sammy) Lewis and Jack (Lena Jo) Lewis; grandchildren, John (Janet) Lanphar, Deena (Danny) Chapman, Jeff (Tori) Massingill, Scott (JoAnn) Massingill, Fred (Paula) Lanphar, Georgia (Eddie) Moraga, Charlie (Mindy) Bolinger, Corrina (Kevin) Woods, Matthew (Wendy) Bolinger, Heather Henderson, D.J. (Anjenette) Bolinger, Christopher (Jen) Bolinger, Michael (Mandy) Bolinger; 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jesse; a brother, Farrell C. Wilson; and two grandsons, Matthew Lanphar and Tommy Bolinger. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, 237 S. Sutherland Street, Globe, Ariz. Interment was at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami, Ariz. Funeral arrangements for Naomi L. Bolinger were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services, Globe.
