Parker Pioneer, Parker, AZ - Published on May 30, 2012 - Beverly “Sue” Burgess was born June 7, 1946 in Willows, Calif., and passed away April 12, 2012, at her home in Parker, Ariz., at the age of 65 years after a short struggle with cancer. Sue, as she was known by her family and many friends, originally moved to Parker in 1990 with her husband of 23 years, Milton A. Burgess. She worked at Q Fresh Supermarket as the bakery/deli manager. Over the years, Sue was also employed at Elks Lodge 1929 in Parker and at the Emerald Canyon Golf Course. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Viola Belle Schreiber, and a brother, Ronald Joe Schreiber. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters Catherine Freeman of Chelan, Wash.; Cherry Brown of Carmichael, Calif.; Jennifer Benward and Dawn Burgess, both of Eaton Rapids, Ill.; her son, Richard Desper of Moline, Ill.; sisters Charlotte Taylor of Cook Station, Mo.; Louetta Toman of Salem, Mo.; her brothers, William Schreiber of Yuba City, Calif.; Robert Schreiber of Anderson, Calif.; Gerald Schreiber of Sutherlin, Ore.; and Henry Schreiber of Tracy, Calif.; five grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and lover her. A private family memorial has been planned. Please direct any donations to the American Cancer Society in Sue’s name.
