Parker Pioneer, Parker, AZ - Published on May 30, 2012 >> Tim L. Jones << >> May 10, 1959 - May 1, 2012 << On May 1, 2012, Tim lost his hard fought battle with cancer. Tim was born May 10, 1959, in Pomona, Calif. His family moved to Parker Dam, Calif., in 1967, where they lived at the Metropolitan Water District. He is the son of Dick and Kathy Jones. Tim has been a long time resident of the Parker area and loved it very much. He attended Parker Dam Elementary and graduated from Parker High School. He played basketball and baseball all through school and was a very dedicated teammate for all who played sports with him. Some of his fondest memories were of his Diamondbacks Little League team and spending time with his kids. Tim’s biggest passion of all was fishing; fishing with Dad at the docks; with his kids, teaching them his skills; and with his best buddy Thurston. Tim had a long career at Dayton Superior in Parker and after it closed he went to work for the Arizona State Parks at Buckskin. Tim loved his job very much, but most of all he loved his Buckskin family. Tim is survived by his two sons, Benjamin Jones and Ryan Jones; his dad and stepmom, Dick and Jan Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Connie Jones; his sister and brother-in-law, Kristy Sweeney and Chris Laffin; uncle Kenny and aunt Sue; uncle Dave and aunt Carol; uncle Steve and aunt Karen; and uncle Gene and aunt Mary ; nephews, Clayton Sweeney; nieces, Neysa Jones Alacantar; Katie Sweeney and many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly. We love you Timmy. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Take A Kid Fishing program. A Celebration of Life will be May 19. Time and location will be announced and an account number will be established for the Take A Kid Fishing fund will be in next week’s Pioneer.
