HOLTZCLAW, Jehre

(Maiden Name: Pappas)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, June 01, 2012 Mrs. Jehre Holtzclaw, 73, of Union County, Ga., passed over peacefully Monday evening, May 7, 2012, at the Union County Nursing Home, Blairsville, Ga., where she had been receiving professional, kind and compassionate care over the past 10 months. She was born May 18, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, and lived in South Amherst, Ohio; West Bloomfield, Mich.; and, for 23 years, at The Prescott Country Club, Ariz. Over the past year, she was a resident of Union County and Blairsville, Ga. Jehre was the daughter of the late James Edward and Dorothy Kovarbasic Pappas. She is survived by her husband, Travis Holtzclaw of Union County; her loving children, daughter Tia Rebholz of Littleton, Colo., and son, Gino Graziano of Altadena, Calif.; two grandchildren, Brittany and Ryder; one great-grandson, Rilan, of Colorado; and sister Patricia Gorr of S. Amherst, Ohio. A graduate of Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, Jehre taught in high school and was an accountant for the family business. In mid-life, she completed graduate studies at the School of Humanistic Studies (psychology), Detroit, Mich., and was certified and conducted classes in the Silva Mind Development program in Michigan and Arizona. She was employed at The Geriatric Resource Center, Prescott, then went into private practice, and lovingly performed her healing, professional counseling and care for 10 years in Prescott, successfully accepting many clients with challenging mental and behavioral disorders/diagnoses. She was a member of the Unity Church and Church of Religious Science in Prescott, and a longtime student of A Course in Miracles in Michigan and Arizona. Among her greatest passions were hiking the Grand Canyon (before and after moving to Arizona) and the game of golf, in which she excelled both in Michigan and Arizona, becoming the 1995 ladies champion at her home course, The Prescott Country Club. She never rode in a cart. She always walked and played with, among others, her closest friends there, Melanie, Barb and Pattie. Jehre will be dearly missed by her family and many friends, including nursing home staff and residents for whom she always had a smile and a pat during a short stay at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prescott Valley and, then, while at the nursing home in Blairsville, Ga. While we mourn for our mate, mother, sister and friend who will always be alive in our memories, we are thankful that she lived and that we were the ones chosen to be among those who were her family and friends.
