She was born Jan. 23, 1923, to John and Emma Robb in Danville, Ill., where she grew up. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard W. Lewis, who passed away in 1981. They moved to Phoenix in 1960 and she remained in Arizona until her death. Mary always had a twinkle in her eye and was ready for any adventure that came her way. She had a very active life of dancing, hiking and golfing. Always game to try anything, she hiked into the Grand Canyon for her 70th birthday, spent the night at Phantom Ranch and hiked out the next day. She snow-skied in Arizona and in Utah with her children and grandchildren, and recently hopped on the back of her son's motorcycle for a ride in Colorado. She is survived by her children John R. Lewis (Jenny) of Appleton, Wis., Virginia A. Estep (Gary) of Yuma, Ariz., and Ted W. Lewis (Nancy) of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Nathan Lewis, Alicia Lewis, Graham Lewis, Jason Snee, Stacey Donnelly, Corey Lewis and Casey Brand; 12 great-grandchildren; and her partner and best friend of 22 years, Art Moser. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Robb; husband Richard W. Lewis; and brother John Robb. Mary Lou touched the lives of many, many people. Anyone who ever met her became a friend forever. She only had good things to say about anyone she spoke of and was always a positive thinker. She was a very, very kind and gentle soul and will be missed by all, but is now with the Lord. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
