Dale passed away at his home May 3. He had been with Hospice since the end of January after a fall in December put him in bed and he was unable to recover.
Dale and his family moved to Lake Havasu City in June 1989, and he worked for Payless Drugs until they went out of business in 1994. He remained in Lake Havasu to raise his children, as he liked the small town as compared to the bigger cities. He worked for the McCulloch Corp., and then Sterilite until he became disabled in 2005. His wife, Carol, was his caregiver since 2009.
Dale was a Vietnam veteran and received the Air Medal for four different missions flown over that country as a helicopter gunner. He was proud to have served his country.
Dale was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Saunders, Aril 19; and his mother-in-law, Grace Brunner, April 5. Dale is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol; a daughter, Elizabeth Fuller, of Lake Havasu City; his son, Richard Saunders, of Payette, Idaho; a brother, Brian Saunders, of Long Island, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Jesse and Josie Saunders.
