Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, June 2, 2012 - Eileen M. Crawford passed away at the age of 87 May 27, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. Eileen was born in Harold, S.D. to Earl and Hildegarde (Johnson) Thompson on Dec. 11, 1924. She married Arthur L. Crawford after he returned from WWII Feb. 15, 1946. They started on a farm in Hand Co., S.D. and after the birth of their second child, Rex, moved to Huron, S.D. She went back to school and returned to teaching, a profession she was not only well suited for, but one she truly loved. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and will be very dearly missed. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Sherry Crawford Hale, of Lake Havasu City; a grandson, Paul Hale (Leandra), of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; her sister, Irene Tilgner, of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Kenny Thompson, of Kansas City, Kan. and Rodney Thompson, of Fontana, Calif.; and Rodney’s daughter, Rhonda; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Crawford, and her son, Rex Crawford. As her wishes were to rest beside her beloved husband Art, a joint memorial service is being planned for both Eileen and her son Rex who passed in February.
