Harry "Ed" Benshoof, born Jan 17, 1942, in Bowbells, N.D., passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012, in Kingman, where he has lived the last 15 years.
Ed proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Ranger after growing up on the farm in Flaxton, N.D. After returning from the Navy, Ed resumed farming followed by working in heating/refrigeration, trucking, and mechanic work.
Ed had many passions and hobbies that he enjoyed, which included restoring classic cars and trucks, showing cars, traveling and showing horses.
Ed was on and off KRMC Hospice Services for the past eight and a half years, however, he never saw this as a setback. In fact, he completed a restoration of a '25 Chrysler during this time, which won 2007 KRMC pick of the show. The family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Matheny, the Hospice staff and his other doctors for the wonderful care, friendship and compassion that Ed was given throughout his long battle with COPD.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Cher; his dog, Royale; two sons, two daughters, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his mother, two brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 12:40 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd. in Boulder City, Nev. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Joan and Diana Hospice House, 812 Airway Ave., Kingman, AZ 86409.
