The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, June 06, 2012 Alma Virginia Thomas Boyles, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at her home in Chino Valley, Ariz. Alma was born Oct. 2, 1927, at Spring Hill, Okfuskee County, Okla. She is the daughter of Walter S. Thomas and Mae L. Coffman. Alma met and married Ruel C. Boyles, the love of her life of 66 years, in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1946. From this union they were blessed with five sons, Gary (Carol) Boyles of Chino Valley, Dwight (Teresa) Boyles of Manton, Calif., Steve (Sandra) Boyles of Maricopa, Ariz., and two sons preceding her in death, Alan Wayne Boyles and Leland Ruel Boyles. Alma was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Glen W. Thomas and Earl R. Thomas, and by her sister Lavona Pickens. Alma was Head of Housekeeping for the Mark Thomas Inn in Monterey, Calif., for many years. She then retired from Hunt Wesson Plant in Oakdale, Calif., in 1985. Since their retirement in 1985, they made Chino Valley their home. Alma is survived by her dear husband of 66 years, Ruel; her precious sons and daughters-in-law; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and her sister Barbara Herring Pennison of Tucson, Ariz. Alma always had a smile on her face and laughter in her voice and heart. She will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends. Information provided by survivors.
