West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Friday, June 08, 2012 Jerry Joseph Amato, 59, of Avondale died June 2, 2012, from cancer. Mr. Amato was born Feb. 18, 1953, in Portland, Ore., to Charles and Laura. He grew up in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School in 1971. His first marriage to Pam Brown ended in divorce. On Aug. 18, 2001, he married Margie in Portland. The following day, they moved to Avondale. He sold Ford parts for 39 years and worked his way up to dealership management, retiring from Sanderson Ford in 2011 after 10 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Margie of Avondale; one daughter, Jenen of Newberg, Ore.; one son, Kris of Mill Creek, Wash.; three stepsons, Billy of Portland, Spike of Portland and Adam of Avondale; two stepdaughters, Sarah of Goodyear and Beth of Portland; 12 grandchildren; and two brothers, Mike and Craig. Celebration of Life events are being planned in Oregon and Arizona.
