Warren Francis Cappel, 84, of Litchfield Park died May 27, 2012, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash.
Mr. Cappel was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Cincinnati to John Clifford and Margret Lambert.
He is a graduate of Xavier High School in Cincinnati, and he attended Xavier University and Ohio State University, focusing on English, philosophy and business administration.
During the Korean War, he served in the Army, and spent nine months in the Republic of Korea as an Army war correspondent for the 24th Infantry Division. He held a master sergeant rank when honorably discharged in 1953.
On completion of his military service, he joined the Kansas City Fire Insurance Co. He worked as a general agent for the National Life of Vermont, and was awarded numerous industry accolades, culminating in his induction into the National Life Hall of Fame.
After retiring in 1990, he traveled between homes in Spokane and Litchfield Park.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; one sister, Dora Weber; five sons, John, William, Gregory, Robert and Ronald; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
