Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona James Armstrong (June 10, 1937 ~ June 5, 2012) James Armstrong, 74, died June 5, 2012 at his home in Taylor, Arizona. James was born James Taylor Witt June 10, 1937 in Irvine Kentucky to Pearl and Clarence Witt. He was adopted by his stepfather, Herman Armstrong after his father’s passing and his mother remarried becoming James Armstrong. He was raised in Kentucky and Indiana with his 5 younger siblings, William (Bill), Carol, Lois, Ray, Ruth Ann, and later in Arizona, Mike. He served 5 years in the Navy where he would meet the mother of his children, Mary (Lynne) Balcazar. They would have four children, James Jr (Skip), Dorene (Dee), Brian, and David. In 1974 he would meet his wife, Lezlie Armstrong and would become father to her two children, Robert and Christina. They would be married on his birthday, June 10, 1987 specifically so he would never be able to forget the date. He is the grand father to Benny, Chris and Billie Barker, Levi Armstrong, Hannah Armstrong, and Great Grandfather to Samantha and Justin O’brien. On October 4, 1994 he would become grandfather to Austin Cook. He would not only help raise him for the next 17 years, but would also say that after having a heart attack and almost dying, that Austin gave him his reason to keep living. Thank you Austin. We are still curious as to the answers to the following questions: After all the years of threats we we would like to know what “jerking a knot in our butt” would actually feel like. What would actually happen if we did make a peep. If he was right that there were no doctors or lawyers in Heaven. Why did you always blame the dog? Where did you hide the Jack? P.S..... Ha Ha... we found your wallet. Private services were held June 7, 2012. Thank you for all of your condolences. He will be greatly missed by us all.
