HILL, Jeanne


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona January 2012 Jeanne Hill passed peacefully at home on the morning of Saturday, January 21, 2012, after a long illness. Jeanne was born November 14, 1930 in Collinsville, OK. She is survived by her loving husband, Louis; three children: Dawn, David and Dixon; and four grandchildren: Harrison, Joseph, Raven and Quentin. She also doted on her two daughters-in-law: Liz and Madeleine. Jeanne honored four priorities in life: God, Husband, Children and Profession. On June 14, 1951, an hour after graduating from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Tulsa, OK, she married Louis Hill, her life-long husband of over 60 years. A successful homemaker, Jeanne maintained her RN credentials but also became a Creative Writer, matriculating from Tulsa University, OSU, and Arizona State. With numerous stories published in myriad magazines such as Children's Highlights and Reader's Digest, Jeanne also penned monthly columns, became an inspirational speaker and wrote two books (Daily Breath and Secrets of Prayer Joy). She was a long-standing Active Member of The National League of American Pen Women, and Contributing Editor for Guideposts magazine. Even on her deathbed, however, she never forgot her number one priority: God. A memorial service will be held for Jeanne at Scottsdale Presbyterian Church 3421 N. Hayden road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 on Friday, Jan. 27th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to Hospice of the Valley (hov.org 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, Arizona 85014) or the charity of their choice.
