Your West Valley View June 2012 Jerome "Jerry" Michael Orbik, born November 2, 1927 to Harry Orbik and Agnes Ulaszek died May 31, 2012, at the Emeritus at Sun City West. He was married to Jane. Children: daughter, Debra (Dr. William G.) Morgan of Grant Park, Illinois; sons: Mark (Cynthia) Orbik of Lombard, Illinois and Dr. Jay Orbik of DeKalb, Illinois; grandchildren: Mark and Michael Orbik, Jenn (Ed) Abrams of Frederick, Colorado, David (Lisa) Morgan of Westminster, Colorado, Bryan (Marlene) Morgan of Grant Park, Illinois; great-grandchildren: Jacob and Gracie Morgan of Grant Park, Illinois and Ainsley and Pete Cox of Westminster, Colorado He graduated from Mount Carmel High School, and attended the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. He served his country in the Army Air Corps. Jerome worked at R.R Donnelly's in Chicago, Illinois for 41 years, retiring in 1987. He was an avid sportsman his whole life, participating in many sports, including: basketball, softball, bowling, water sports, and his favorite golf. The family believes that golf was his favorite because he enjoyed driving the golf cart so much. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV. But when he gave up following the Chicago White Sox in favor of the Phoenix Diamondbacks, his children knew he had truly become a citizen of Arizona, and left his Chicago roots behind. He was a member and former president of the Sun City West Commodore 64 Computer Club, and through this organization became involved with Nadaburg School, where he assisted in setting up the computer lab for the students. Burial will be on Friday, June 8, at 10:00 A.M. at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. There will be a memorial gathering at his home, 17827 N. 134th Ave., Sun City West from 1:00 to 4:00 on Friday, June 9, 2012. Visit this person's Guest Book at www.yourwestvalley.com
