Roy J. Weinberg Lt/Col. USAF, Retired Birch Run, MI. Roy, former long time Arizona resident, left this earthly home on March 30th, 2009 to go "fly with the angels".
Roy was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1922 and enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942. He flew in France and Germany during WWII where he received several commendations, including the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Purple Heart and the WWII Victory Medal. He also flew in the African and Middle Eastern Theater. He served the U.S.A.F. during the "cold war" as well as the Korean Conflict, retiring from the U.S.A.F. in 1970. He was proud to serve his country and he loved the U.S.A.
Roy is survived by the love of his life for nearly 30 years, his wife Elaine. Also surviving are 2 daughters Michelle Rich of Phoenix, AZ and Rhonda Weinberg of Spokane, WA. Three brothers, Jack and Bill both of Wisconsin and Alfred of Illinois. Three sisters, Alice of Illinois, Coila of Florida and Lucy of Washington. Two step children also survive, Kelly Main of Michigan, and Kevin McCray of San Deigo.
