Margaret (Peg) Wilson passed away peacefully at her home in her sleep June 6, 2012 in Lake Havasu City.
Peg, as she was known by her family and friends, was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Blanche and George Hult.
Peg went on to attend Rollins College in Orlando, Fla., where she obtained a degree in World History and Art. In 1948, Peg married her soul mate of 62 years, Maurice Wilson. Together they adopted and lovingly raised four children. The family left South Dakota in 1967 for sunny California. Then, in 1970, while on a visit to Colorado, Peg found her true calling. Peg purchased an old train depot in Basalt, Colo., and opened her first antique shop, the All American Depot. She never looked back after that. Peg was still selling small antiques and paper goods by mail order until three months before her death. She and Mory moved to Lake Havasu City in 2000.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Mory; her oldest daughter, Susan; and youngest son, Bill. She is survived by her daughter, Becky (Tom) Porter, of Lake Havasu City; son, John Wilson, of Vista, Calif.; grandsons, Chris Baucia, of Maryland, and Brian Cochran, of California; and two great-grandchildren.
A brief memorial service will take place for both Peg and Mory June 23, at 1 p.m. at the Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Reverend Rounds will offer words of comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Lung Association, the American Kidney Foundation and the Western Arizona Humane Society.
