Chantelle K. "Shorty" Wulff passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 6, 2012. She was 93 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan "Bud" Wulff, in 1988.
She left behind a son, Dr. Paul J. Wulff and his wife, Elaine, of Prescott, Ariz.; and a daughter, Patricia W. Triplett and her husband, Ed, of Tucson; as well as four grandsons; one great grandson; and two great granddaughters.
Forever known as "Bud" and "Shorty," they moved to Tucson in 1945, after he was discharged from the Army Air Corp at the end of World War II, after a visit here to his mother and stepfather who had moved to Tucson a few years earlier. Juan was a life-long union sheet metal worker and Chantelle was a dedicated homemaker.
A favorite activity while they were raising their children was boating and water-skiing. They belonged to the old "Bay Horse Boat and Ski Club" and spent most summer weekends with the club boating and skiing at Canyon Lake with kids and dog in tow. For her 93rd birthday last September, her son and daughter took her back to Canyon Lake where they spent the weekend camping and boating "just like the old days." Along for the trip were some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was one of the great pleasures of her later life and she never ceased talking about it.
She was also a 20-year member of the "ACES" Pima County Senior Club, in which she was very active and enjoyed numerous travel trips as well as a variety of activities, developing along the way many life-long friendships.
Chantelle lived her last four years at the "Country Club of La Cholla." She was very involved in a wide variety of activities, which she greatly enjoyed with her many resident friends as well as the staff, whom she also counted as close friends. In her final month or so, she was loved and greatly cared for by the staffs of both Casa de la Luz Hospice and The Inn at the Fountains, for which the family is so greatly appreciative.
Chantelle lived a long, active, happy life and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her ashes will be interred next to her husband at Holy Hope Cemetery.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Country Club of La Cholla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Holiday Fund at The Inn at the Fountains, 5830 N. Fountains Ave., Tucson, AZ 86704.
Adair Funeral Home, Avalon Chapel, assisted the family with arrangements.
