The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, June 11, 2012 Alexandra Mustaka Leara Alexandra passed away June 4, 2012, in Prescott, Ariz. Alexandra was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Leara, and her daughter, Olga Yorga. She is survived by sons Angelo (Denise) and John (Dorci) Leara; grandchildren Kevin Yorga, Cheryl (John) Tremonte, Mark (Tammy), Dan (Chris) and Matthew (Kristen) Leara, Diana (Buck) Jackson, Bethany (Steve) Luce and Briana (Richard) Foster; 10 great-grandchildren Jacob, Nico, Alexandra, Johnathan, Nicholas, Alexander, Isabella, Jackson, Sydni and Alexa; dear aunt and friend to many. Alexandra loved to crochet beginning with items for her trousseau and until her death was making scarves. She sent President George W. Bush one of her afghans in a red, white and blue pattern. She proudly displayed his letter of thanks on her wall. She also wrote the story of her life. She belonged to the Orthodox Church and retained a strong faith until her death. For decades, she babysat. She loved to cook. Her chicken noodle soup was a great hit with all the children. She proudly became an ambassador at her assisted living residence. In her final years, she liked to be called "Alex." She died peacefully in her sleep and will be buried next to her husband in St. Louis. Funeral services 10 a.m. from Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, St. Louis, Mo., Monday, June 11, 2012, to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church for an 11 a.m. service. Interment will be at St. Matthew Cemetery. Trisagion service to be at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012. Visitation will be Sunday, 4 to 8 p.m. Information provided by survivors.
