KOCH, Alan Lee

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, June 12, 2012 Alan Lee Koch passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, at the Barrow Neurological Stroke Center in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born Oct. 2, 1938, in Akron, Ohio. He was the son of Henry and Bernice Koch. Alan was 73 years old. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Terry, whom he married in 1979; stepson Todd Pittner (Rene); and sister Holly Frydrych (Bob.) Alan was a very positive thinker and always had a smile on his face. Everyone was his friend. He was always available to help anyone in need. He had a good sense of humor and was a true gentleman. His love of life and his laugh were infectious. Alan loved to travel more than anything, especially to his beloved Switzerland. His love of children and animals was incredible. Some even referred to him as the Dog Whisperer. He was known to carry dog biscuits in his pocket, and when he would meet a dog, he would always sit down no matter where he was, to be at their level. The animals in Prescott will miss him, especially the javelinas. A celebration of Alan's life will be in Prescott this fall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Yavapai Humane Society. Sunrise Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
