MAYNARD, Harold William (Bill)


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Monday, June 11, 2012 - Harold "Bill" William Maynard, 83, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. He was born Sept. 16, 1927 in Detroit, Mich. to Harold and Virginia (Schubert) Maynard. Bill, as he was known to his family and friends, served his country proudly in the US Navy from 1947-1952 as a seaman/aerial photographer and was honorably discharged. He moved to Lake Havasu City 12 years ago, coming from Sacramento where he lived for 30 years. Bill was a member of the Eagles Aerie since 1970, Elks Lodge, VFW and the American Legion. He married his wife Ruth, in Reno, Nev. May 23, 1992. Bill was a loving and generous man who lived a good life, worked hard and loved his family more than anything else. He taught his family about values of hard work and good morals. He never complained and always trusted in the Lord and inspired his family to do the same. He will be deeply missed and always loved. Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Maynard; children, Janet and William Maynard; grandchildren, Jennifer Campbell and Spencer and Kirsten; great-grandchildren, Sean and William Campbell; and brother, Ken Maynard. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Luella Maynard; and his parents, Harold and Virginia Maynard. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 13, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church with Pastor Rachel March officiating. Interment will be in Onekema, Mich. Military honors will be presented by the Marine Corps League.
